"The Beautiful Language"

This website is about Caruvat, a constructed language based primarily on Indo-European roots. It was designed with two goals in mind: firstly, to sound beautiful, and secondly, to be easy to learn.

The name Caruvat is a combination of carwu, meaning beautiful, and -vat, the ending for language names. These are derived from Proto-Indo-European *kal-wo- and *bhā-to-, literally "beautiful thing spoken".

The links at left will guide you through learning the basics of Caruvat. At the end is a lexicon of all canonical words to date. Don't worry if there is anything you don't understand at first; as you go through the lessons you will get a feel for the language and soon you will have an intuitive understanding of it the same way you learned your first language.
