Oh but don't you recognize the real Spartacus? That avatar just, umm, happens to be the most recent picture of him.

Had you posted a picture of me, I would, of course, have recognized it.  That avatar looks nothing like me.

I think the authority on the matter has spoken anyway. Wink

Just 'cuz he has a picture of an old statue and posts in a dead language doesn't prove anything.  I could Babelfish up something in Japanese, too, but that doesn't make me Japanese.  I maintain that I am the one and only Spartacus, and defy this imposter to prove otherwise.

Kitties!  And such beauties!  That calico is gorgeous, TA.  And Cleo looks a lot like my Jenny only lighter in tone.  I like her expression.

No you're not! Even you won't say Spartacus wears Mary Janes, so HAH!

That's just an avatar, Swampy, honey.  I don't really look like that.  But I really am Spartacus, regardless of what anyone says.

I'll have to try that, Swampy.  I certainly have enough running around.

And, to apologize to TA and Umop, kitties being cute:

Pic 1: Hikari, Callie, and look closely, that's Yuki in the middle, like this (6).  He's a heat-seeker; if I find a cat under my covers in the middle of the night, odds are it's him.

Pic 2: Callie and Hitomi

Hate to break it to you all, but Sparticus does indeed have quite a few kitties and pink hair.  I guess would know, since I am Sparticus, and you are not. Stick out tongue

Would that be olive oil, Swampy?  Generally I marinate them in lemon juice.  I find it complements any fishy flavors they may have.  I've actually let these kitties get a little large; they're much more tender when they are younger, don't you find?  Of course, you don't get as much meat, but at this stage they're so active I'll have to stew them or they'll be all stringy.

Please.  It's so obvious that I am Spartacus that I can't believe it's even up for debate.

Glad you think so.  Here's some more!

Once I started with the Japanese names, my anime fetish took over, so the rest are named for anime/manga characters.

The first two pics are my two boys. (There were 2 boys and 3 girls in the litter).

This top picture is Ginji, who was attacking my left knee (that dark thing at the bottom) for no good reason.  (My knees generally prefer to remain neutral, and certainly never did anything to him.)  He is not much of a cuddler, being a fierce and mighty hunter of, well, everything.  Milk rings, dust bunnies, his sisters...  Ginji was originally named Chihiro, because he was such a ringer for his mommy, I thought he was a girl.  Even now, I mix them up.  When he plays with Jenny, it's impossible to tell where one starts and the other begins.

The second picture is Yuki, who looks just like his daddy, the neighbor's cat.  Yuki means snow in Japanese, but really, I just liked the name.  He's quite the dandy in his satin tails and white tie, but very camera shy.

The problem with that idea was this little girl. It's hard to take a picture of her that shows the subtle variations of her coat: she's a tortoiseshell but very dark and sooty.  Even her claws are smoky.  No name seemed to suit her-you couldn't call her Jet or anything like that, because she's not really black.  So I named her Hikari, which means "light" in Japanese.

Oh, that'd be a coolness.  Winnie, I love the cat's name!

Thanks, it amuses me, too.  And it's very descriptive, trust me!

Yay, I can post pictures, now!  Thanks, Umop! So, here we go:

This would be Calliope, or Callie for short.  I was trying not to name them to avoid becoming attached to them, but I had to call them something to distinguish between them.  She's calico, so, Callie.  I then considered naming them after the muses.

Has someone been calling me?
Jan 16, 2007 5:20 AMIt's All Fun & Games -> Spartacus -> post#10062

First, a little background.  Late summer/early fall a very sweet little gray tabby queen showed up under my house.  I suspect someone dumped her.  Anyway, because I was kinda sorta in the market for another cat, and I'm a sucker, I brought her in, fed her, and named her Jenny Underfoot.  Jenny kindly repaid me by presenting me with 5 kittens on Sept. 14.  (It's taken me this long to track down my sister's digital camera and figure out how to use it and upload pictures, so the kittens are pretty big by now.)  I uploaded the photos to Photobucket, but Umop said she was having trouble with the site, so I said I'd post the pictures over here for you all to enjoy.

Um,.except I can't figure out how to do it.  Help?

Nope, never, which used to stress my Episcopalian friend out quite a bit, to my amusement.

TPBM has a five-day weekend coming up.

I might have some of the cheepo Wal-mart brand artificial stuff, mostly for my sister, who likes it with peanut butter on her pancakes.  Grossed out  Me, I prefer brown sugar, applesauce and sour cream on my pancakes/waffles/whatever.  Drooling

And speaking of Wal-mart, TPBM can spend an embarassingly long time happily browsing the aisles.

Not likely; I had it yesterday.

TPBM doesn't bother to use measuring cups/spoons when cooking.
